Day 4
Final Conferring

October 21, 2023 (day 4)
The conference wrapped up today and I returned to my home. There will be no locator map since, with the exception of eating breakfast at the Oasis and visiting the giants in Atlanta, it was all expressway to and from. The presentations were all interesting and the attendees a wonderful mix of old friends, people I've wanted to meet, and people I didn't know I wanted to meet until I had.

October 20, 2023 (day 3)
The day was filled with presentations and the night was filled with music.

October 19, 2023 (day 2)
The conference got started for real today with an only slightly damp walking tour of Bloomington and a round of presentations. The walking tour turned me onto a great spot for dinner which was followed with road fan conversations around a pleasant fire.

October 18, 2023 (day 1)
I spent a lot of time on the road getting to Bloomington but I did work in a stop at a museum of giants and made it in time for a fantastic concert.

Prelude - October 9, 2023
This is a nearly last minute addition. I did manage to register on the last day of "early bird" rate availability but that was only because it had been extended for nearly a week. I really didn't think I would be able to fit this in but after the dust had settled on other trip and commitments, a MoP sized hole remained in the schedule at just the right spot.

So I'm off to this year's Miles of Possibility in Bloomington-Normal, IL. I've noted in the past that the closest Historic Route 66 comes to my home is in Wilmington, IL. That distance is 245 miles. In the prelude to last year's trip to MoP in Pontiac, I added "This time I really mean it" to a claim that "It can't get much closer" when mentioning that Pontiac is just 255 mile away. That claim is safe this year but just barely. Route 66 in Bloomington-Normal is 262 miles from my door.
