April 29, 2007
With no partcular place to go, I managed a stop at the Patton Museum in Fort Knox, KY, and at Indiana's first capital in Corydon.

This was cruising day and the weather turned out nearly perfect for it. Besides some pretty cool roads, we toured a Coke museum and a Bourbon distillery.

April 27, 2007
Today didn't contain much "road trip" stuff. I spent part of it at work and a good bit on the expressway although I did get in a little Dixie Highway south of Louisville. Hooking up with the group and an evening filled with road talk made up for a lot of expressway.

Prelude (February 13, 2007)
This trip grew from a recent thread at the American Road Magazine forum. A chat about a past road trip veered just a bit off topic and turned into a chat about a future road trip. The folks doing the chatting live in St Louis, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati and at some point I suggested Wigwam Village #2 in Cave City, Kentucky, as something reachable from all three. A little more time and a little more chatter and road trip plans started to form.

The Cincinnati resident was, of course, me. The guy from St Louis was Kent Sanderson who I've followed on a couple Route 66 outings including last September's transmission farewell tour. Pat Bremer, another guy who I've followed on Sixty-Six and a few other roads, was the one chatting from Indianapolis. We recently settled on a date and a sketchy route for a cruise and had a couple more folks sign on. Fran, another Missourian, is joining us and so is Baby Boomer Bob from Tennessee. I fully expect the group to grow a bit more before the cruise date arrives. That date is April 28. We'll be doing a loop on the Dixie (US-31W) and Jackson (US-31E) Highways through Elizabethtown and Bardstown with an evening gathering back at the Wigwams. If anyone reading this wants to come along, feel free to drop me a note.
