This is exactly what I like to see when I'm looking for breakfast. It's the Mountain View (That's the name of the business not the manufacturer.) Diner in Charles Town, WV.

Once the rain let up, I was able to see the fog warning signs.

When the Pailinskill Viaduct appeared on the GPS as a nearby point of interest, I turned off to take a look. A glimpse at the internet revealed some interesting overhead views and some comments about graffiti. I expected some ugly tagging stuff and there is indeed plenty of that but there are also many mural style paintings that a lot of small towns would advertise as an attraction if they were on the side of buildings. Getting to the deck or inside (Oh, yes you can!) the arches requires more effort than I cared to exert so I declared myself satisfied with the riverside offerings.

This is my home for the next couple of days.

My son, Crispian, picked me up at the hotel and we made our way to "America's Oldest Restaurant", The '76 House. The tavern played a role in the American Revolution that included serving George Washington and others. That accounts for the '76 in its name although it was already 108 years old when the Declaration of Independence was signed.

The food, beverage, and music were quite good and the reunion conversation even better.
