Welcome to Texas.

And welcome to Earth -- where photo ops seem to be everywhere. Education is available at the brick bordered welcome sign. The bottom portion is enlarged a bit here. I really liked the spruced up old theater. I've seen similar treatments applied to old gas stations but believe this is my first theater.

The elevated parade of old trucks is about halfway between Springlake and Olton. Bob's Oil Well, which I've photographed before, is in Matador.

Two US highways share pavement as they run into Paducah but they emerge separately. Today I'm sticking with US-70.

I spent the night in this room in Vernon, Texas. There doesn't appear to be much going on in Vernon at anytime and even less on Sunday. Finding an open restaurant was something of a challenge. The Plaza Theater was the exception. When I first passed it, a small smiling crowd was just emerging from a matinee.
