Day 3
An Autoweek Pick

September 1, 2008 (day 3)
Today's drive was mostly along one of the roads that Autoweek magazine picked as one of the nation's best drives. It also happens to be a scenic byway designated by the US Forest Service.

August 31, 2008 (day 2)
Point Pleasant, West Virginia, is a place with a lot of history and I tried to at least get a glimpse of it. Then I headed north to spend the night in Marietta, Ohio, the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory.

August 30, 2008 (day 1)
I didn't travel far on the first day of the holiday weekend but believe me, it was a trip. I headed up the road just fifteen miles to Blanchester where a guy was planning on jumping his motorcycle over the world's largest horseshoe crab and through a wall of fire. Would you want to leave if this was happening in your neighborhood? I'll try to cover more ground on Sunday and Monday.
