May 1, 2019 (day 11)
A little two-lane and a lot of expressway got me through Kentucky and all the way back home. On the way I tried a new restaurant and visited a familiar museum in a new location.

April 30, 2019 (day 10)
I got a wonderful surprise in Dickson, TN, and a mild disappointment in Hopkinsville, KY.

April 29, 2019 (day 9)
I exited Arkansas only after downing a SQZBX and a Schultz and learning many things in Hot Springs.

April 28, 2019 (day 8)
Fred Zander and I traveled together to Shreveport then headed off in separate directions. Shreveport, like Natchitoches, is a place that deserves more time.

April 27, 2019 (day 7)
We got to see a soon to be erected sign and visit a plantation in the morning then check out a couple of thing we only saw in passing yesterday.

April 26, 2019 (day 6)
The day was almost entirely filled by a bus tour with just enough time left over for the banquet.

April 25, 2019 (day 5)
We enjoyed a Natchitoches walkabout between the presentations and some Louisiana barbecue when they were over.

April 24, 2019 (day 4)
I made it to the trip's target city where the 2019 Jefferson Highway Association Conference officially got underway.

April 23, 2019 (day 3)
After breakfast with a friend in Memphis, I spent a little time in Clarksdale and stretched closing time just a little at the B. B. King Museum in Indianola.

April 22, 2019 (day 2)
I've passed this way multiple time so most of what I saw today was familiar. I did start and end the day at new-to-me restaurants although one of them has been in business about sixty-six years.

April 21, 2019 (day 1)
It was an expressway start and a Dixie Highway finish as I headed south to the Mammoth Cave area.

Prelude - February 23, 2019
When I drove through Natchitoches, LA, last year, the JHA had almost decided to hold their 2019 conference there, and I had almost decided to attend if they did. Well, they did and I am. The conference is scheduled for April 24 through 27. I've registered for the conference, and am almost ready to make hotel reservations, but haven't even started to think about what path I'll follow there and back.
