This is the text from the “About” page that appeared when the blog was launched on August 7, 2011.

This blog is an accessory to Denny G’s Road Trips (dennygibson.com). Neither the focus nor the basic organization of the site has changed.

 

I have two things in mind for this blog. Foremost, I hope to have a place for conversations. Twice I’ve tried to do that with a forum and twice it fizzled. Secondly, it will give me a place to occasionally post something that has nothing to do with a road trip. Since I see a blog as something that should be fed regularly, I plan to post here at least once a week. Circumstances might call for more frequent posts but I intend to have something to say every Sunday afternoon (or there abouts). Sunday afternoon, incidentally, doesn’t end until midnight. If I’m in the middle of a road trip, the entries will most likely relate to the trip. At other times they might concern just about anything except politics or religion though I don’t expect to stray too far from road trips and the things that fuel them.
